Four Approaches To Lower Your Score

There are four basic approaches you can take to lower your score.  They are:

1)  Improve your mechanics by taking lessons and practicing.

2)  Improve your physical condition by exercising, stretching, and proper nutrition.

3)  Upgrading your equipment, golf balls, training aids, etc.

4)  Stop throwing away shots by improving your mental game, which includes course management.

Stop Throwing Away Shots

  •      > hitting from behind a tree
  •      > landing in a sand trap
  •      > hitting out of a sand trap
  •      > chipping too soft
  •      > chipping too hard
  •      > selecting the right club
  •      > shot selection when it is windy
  •      > losing the lead when you are ahead
  •      > playing with your boss or clients
  •      > playing with your husband
  •      > missing a birdie opportunity
  •      > making a bogie or double bogie
  •      > playing too slow
  •      > bad or difficult lies
  •      > trouble shots
  •      > hitting over a lake, sand trap or hazard
  •      > being embarrassed

How many strokes could you save JUST by eliminating fear and anger from your mind set during a round of golf?

We are not done yet.  What about the strokes you throw away due to negative emotions that lead to bad course management?  How many times do you pass on a makeable shot because of fear of missing?  How many strokes do you toss away by going for an unrealistic shot because of your anger from previous bad shots?
